Dell Latitude E7450 Review
The Dell Latitude E7450 has a great speaker and above average battery life
The Dell Latitude E7450 doesn’t mess with all kinds of gimmiks like a 360-degree rotatable screen. On the contrary, it is a simple and straightforward lightweight business laptop for people who need to get work done on the go. This machine offers a solid carbon fiber and magnesium housing, long battery life and point stick for extra productivity. Thanks to the Core I5 and 256GB SSD, the Dell E7450 has sufficient power.
The Dell Latitude E7450 looks professional and solid, partly due to the black on black color scheme and solid build quality. The design is also of high standards due to the use of carbon fiber cover and magnesium alloy chassis. This may not be noticeable to the layman at first sight.
When you open the laptop you will find a great chiclet style keyboard, five mouse buttons and a pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard. Multiple ports are available on both sides and the back of the laptop, while the docking port connector and removable battery pack can be found at the bottom. The only parts that have a different color from the matte black whole are the metalic gray hinges with their bright white LED indicators.
The size of the Dell E7450 is slightly smaller than its competitor Lenovo Thinkpad T450. However, the Dell E7450 makes up for it in weight and is slightly lighter than the T450. This while both machines are comparable in build quality and durability.
The Dell E7450 has passed the military standard 810G test, making it an ideal machine for those who travel a lot with their laptop, giving the laptop a lot of mileage. This also means that the laptop is protected against high and low temperatures, shocks, humidity and more. The Dell Latitude E7450 even comes with a Gorilla Glass display if you opt for a touchscreen model. There is almost no flexibility in this model, so we can even throw it without damaging it.
The Dell Latitude E7450 mainly comes with a 1920×1080 14 inch display with matte finish, so you won’t be disturbed by reflective screen while working. In practice, this often means that the colors are muted, but during a short test with trailer ant-man I did not notice this. I enjoyed the beautiful colors of the screen.
The E7450’s display registers a brightness of 256 nits, which is higher than the Thinkpad T450s and thin and light alternative. The display performed well in our color reproduction test, covering 91.6 percent of the sRGB Spectrum. This was matched by the Lenovo T450s, but the thin and light variant only scored 77 percent.
The Speakers of the Dell E7450 positioned at the beginning of the palm rest gave a great and loud sound. Unfortunately while listening to Electric Feel, despite the loud sound, there were flats and high tones in the audio. I also took small distortions in the audio while increasing the volume.
